I enjoyed the discussion of player piano tops for storage that
I started. I quite agree. I try to discourage my customers from
storing all their rolls on top of the piano. I always put a piano
scarf on mine to protect the finish and then prop only 5 or 6 rolls
there as I am playing them. I am now having new piano scarves made
to go on top of each player in my showroom. I will be offering the
piano scarves on the web site soon.
Piano tops are for family photos, trinkets, knick knacks, mantle clocks
and display items. There is nothing worse than going into a customer's
house to work on the player piano and find a couple of hundred piano
rolls on top. They want me to remove them and put them back, of
course.
New discussion topic: What do you put on top of your player piano?
Your piano baby collection, perhaps?
