Seek Catch Knob for Weber Upright Themodist
By Craig Brougher
I am restoring a Weber Themodist upright which is missing a catch knob
from the panel that covers the name board. They don't make these
anymore and I know they are rare. Does anyone have one in their
junk box they would sell me or trade for something?
If you aren't sure, here's what they look like. From the front they
are a smooth, round metal knob swiveled and spring-loaded in a 1" round
mounting plate having two countersunk mounting holes. The rear of the
assembly has a small little catch.
As the cover panel is raised off the cheek blocks (where it rests while
one is using the Themodist levers, recessed into the name board), the
two catches engage receptacles in the name board and hold it vertically
when the levers are covered. The whole thing is only 1" in diameter
and about an inch deep. The knob is about 1/2" diam.
Thanks a lot.
