Duo-Art Accordion Nipples
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, The easiest and safest way I've found to remove the nipples
from accordion pneumatics is to find a drill bit the fits perfectly
inside of the nipple. Then insert the bit into the nipple, grab the
nipple and bit with a pair of pliers and then twist it out in a slow
circular motion.

Once the accordions are recovered, cut out the holes with an Exacto
knife and then insert the nipples back in place. (Also, I use an ice
pick to 'punch out' the screw holes for the adjusted blocks.) To seal
the nipples in place, I apply a very thin bead of Phenoseal around the
base of the nipple before I tap it into position with a very small ball
peen hammer.

Musically,

John A. Tuttle - Traveling Player Tech in New Jersey... ;-)
