The weekend of 15-18 November, 2001, was full of new music in the
Archa Theatre in the centre of Prague, featuring the music of many
Czech composers and international composers like Ligeti, Antheil,
Cage, Messiaen, Cowell, Ruggles, Rudhyar, Ornstein (the oldest living
composer in the world!), Glass, and even Nancarrow.
The Agon Orchestra of Prague played arrangements by Mikhashoff, No. 1,
2, 6 and 7, and I played No. 17, 21, 12, 20, 36, 26, 40a and 7 with the
Hupfeld Phonola Vorsetzer at a Petrof grand piano. It was a wonderful
atmosphere in the full theatre in spite of, or better because of, this
difficult music.

[ At http://www.geocities.com/agon.orchestra/ :
[ "Agon Orchestra (originally Agon Ensemble) was formed in 1983/85,
[ as a platform for a group of young Czech composers and musicians
[ whose activities developed outside the boundaries of the cultural
[ establishment of that time." That careful statement may mean that
[ the group initially played 'underground', without the sponsorship
[ or approval of the Communist government. See also
