Sankyo 20-Note Music Box Plays Book Music

David,  It would be most unlikely the gears etc of the Sankyo mechanism
would be acrylic, which is more for decorative use, so perhaps they mean
the pretty bits are gold-tone.

I am sure the moving parts would be something more durable, like
acetal.
