Internet Archive - The Web The Way It Was
By Phil Dayson

Some of the MMD group may be interested in a remarkable web site which
I recently came across. It is http://www.archive.org/ , an archive of
the Internet going back five or six years.

The Internet Archive is building a digital library of Internet sites
and other cultural artifacts in digital form. It provides free access
to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public. I have
used it to access a number of sites containing MIDI files that no
longer exist, as well as other sites such as the one that was from
Octet Designs.

One wonders about the size of computer that must be needed for such
a project.
