Hello,
I am writing in response to Matt Caulfield's query regarding 146 stops.
I do not own an older 146, but do have a newer 146B. There are only
two exposed stop knobs, both for the countermelody trumpets and stopped
flutes. These are located outside the case. However, there is also
a stop for the rearmost rank, consisting of the 16 melody violins and
the 9 accompaniments. But the stop has no knob. You must reach in
and feel around to find the stop, which is actuated by sliding a piece
of wood. It is on the left side, looking in from the rear of the
organ, and on the front side of the riser board. It is not on the
extreme end, but rather in a few inches. A 145 model I was working
on years back also had this same arrangement. For some reason
Wurlitzer did not make these very accessible.
Hope that helps,
