I have been improving my Duo-Art piano over several years and have
recently perfected my MIDI controlled inline valve system. Together
with my roll scanner and the software developed by Richard Stibbons,
this allows me to play music as if I had a collection of perfect
original rolls since the paper roll distortion can be removed and the
music is played just as originally intended.

I am continually amazed at what a superb job the performers and editors
of the era did now that I can hear such fine reproductions of their
works. One performer I always underestimated in the past was Erno
Rapee. I previously found his performances to be dull and uninspired.
I now understand that  it was my playback system and not his
recordings. In fact, I now believe he was one of Aeolian's best. I am
writing this in the hopes of eliciting the opinions of others
regarding the work of Erno Rapee. I have yet to find a recording of
his that is less than remarkable.
