Short Mountain Music Works has Moved
By Brian Thornton

Yes, I am Moving my shop to a larger building where I can at last
combine my restoration facilities with my woodworking operations. For
a few years now I have been doing the woodworking out of my new home
as it was under construction. This limited the amount of work I could
do. As there was no climate control, so most of the time I was also
limited as far as when I could work. When a larger building came up
for rent in Woodbury here, I snatched it. It was my hope that I would
have a leisurely two months to move.

Three weeks ago I had a catscan which revealed that I had a severe
sinus infection which could only be remedied by surgery. Very bad
timing to say the least. The surgery was slated for October 10th.
This procedure will only take one day but I am told that I will have
restrict my activities for 2 weeks after. Since then, I have had to
focus solely on moving the shop and setting up the equipment competed
before I go into the hospital. Besides all the benches and equipment,
there were two photoplayers, a Seeburg F, two Duo-art Steinway grands,
two regular players, six pump organs, a 153 Band Organ and one monster
Vocalion, With a crew of three and all instruments were moved in two
days without incident or damage.

It is my vision with this new space and machinery to expand my
manufacturing of wooden pneumatic components such as:

-Pouchboard replacements for Gulbransen, Starr, Operators, Simplex
   and others

-Remanfacture of Schultz, Gulbransen and other glued-together stacks

  -Seeburg/Western Electric valve covers

  -High quality components for orchestrions

Any encouragement or feedback is appreciated. Please watch my website
for developments

Thank you,
Brian
