Dear friends,
I have had the fortunate experience of acquiring a very nice
collection of Ampico rolls. They are relatively new rolls produced by
Harold Powell. Unfortunately, during their lifetime, someone tried to
make jumbo rolls out of the forty some titles, and then decided that
they didn't really want to do that, so they tried putting Humpty
Dumpty back together again, using rubber cement. During these surgical
procedures they often-times removed label, leader, end of roll, etc.
and left the music intact. I have one roll left which hasn't been put
back together again, because I don't have the proper tempo for the new
leader. The roll is 68553B Intermezzo by Brahms, Op 118, No. 6, in
E Flat minor, played by Benno Moiseiwitch.
Can anyone help?? Thanks very much!
Mike Walter
