New Player Action Parts
By Roger Waring

I am in need of some levers (wippens) for a Duo-Art. Having searched
the archives and checked current suppliers of player parts I have drawn
a blank. The problem is, that the type fitted to this Duo-Art
(British Aeolian) has a very weak semi-circular centre support to which
the jack is pinned. The wood has dried out completely (due to the
player being sited in a very nice warm hotel for 50 years) and numerous
jacks are coming adrift as this thin segment splits horizontally along
the line of the pin hole. I hope that I have made myself clear with
this description! It is possible that a full set of used levers might
do the job if I could guarantee that they would last better than the
present ones.

Two questions, therefore:

Does anyone know a supplier of new player levers - 3 and 7/8 inches
long with a 5/8 lower extension for the key capstan?

Alternatively, is there a reliable way of treating an old set in such
a way as to significantly extend the life of the wood?

All suggestions gratefully received.
