During the tours at the recent MBSI meeting, we visited Columbia Organ
Works. They have the machinery and the enthusiasm to provide beautiful
leathers of any thickness for rebuilders and have a catalog available.
The quality of their products is outstanding, and the people are also
outstanding!!! The address is http://www.columbiaorgan.com.
While recently looking for some patent information, the US Patent and
Trade website was found. There is a seek function that works for the
recent years but not for early patents. But (and this is what is
important for our use) if you have the patent number, and a TIFF
reader, you can print out ANY entire patent, including drawings. A
TIFF reader demo is suggested, and the cost of the product is $49.00.
If you do any patent research that requires copies, this program will
pay for itself quickly in time and effort! The US Patent and Trade
Office website is: http://www.uspto.gov/ This site can save tons of
postage!
I would like to encourage the MMD members to tell us about useful
web sites, particularly in terms of research. Let's use our computers
for what they do best: searching!
Keep up the good work, Robbie. These daily MMD fixes are important
to us all!
