Dear friends, please put on your calendars:
June 14th to June 16th, 2002 -- The Great International Waldkirch
Organ Festival, with more than 100 rare pipe organs and orchestrions!
The program of events includes a special organ concert in the
Protestant Church with the world premiere of special organ music.
The church organ part will be played by Chris Pardini, organist at
the famous Crystal Cathedral in Orange, California!
Other events include Open House at Jaeger & Brommer Orgelbau and in
the new organ hall of the Waldkirch Organ Foundation, and special
programs at the workshop with the big Barth organ (127 notes) and
other great organs.
In the streets and marketplace of Waldkirch you will hear wonderful
pipe organs and singers with crank organs, and in the Elztal Museum
will be special events. Also at the same time we hold the Waldkirch
Town Festival and you will have plenty to eat and drink.
And, for the first time, the Waldkirch Organ Foundation will hold a
a competition where you can win a 20-note belly organ with a unique
design -- only one piece in the world like this! The winner will be
nominated on Sunday, June 16th, at the marketplace.
All reasons enough to come to the organ building town of Waldkirch
in the Black Forest! If you have any questions, please let me know.
Yours,
Wolfgang Brommer
