Wurlitzer 10-Tune A.P.P. Roll Recutting Project
By John Rutoskey

In regard to the APP Wurlitzer roll project that Don is mentioning, I
could be very interested, however I would like to know the tune listing
and price of the project. The selected tunes would very much matter to
me. If they are mostly the well-worn and well-known tunes everyone knows
I'd probably pass. However if they are snappy blues and fox-trots that
haven't been heard since the 20's I think I'd be extremely interested!

Also, I would like to know if there is a price break for lending rolls to
the project? I have a new old stock APP roll that is very early and I'm
sure has never been recut. In fact, I don't think this roll has ever been
played, as it is still wrapped in Wurlitzer's red paper with the test
pattern on it!

See you all here in Baltimore next week up at the Hunt Valley Marriott :)
By the way as an ironic sidenote --- the nightclub in the Hunt Valley
Marriott used to be called Wurlitzer's. There was a huge pink Wurlitzer
neon logo on top of the building that could be seen for quite a distance.
I always wondered what happened to that. It wouldn't surprise me if it's
still somewhere on the premises. The club featured a 1940's and 50's
musical theme, and had few golden-age Wurlitzer jukeboxes on the dance
floor as decorations... it has been gone for about 10 years now.
