Wurlitzer 10-Tune A.P.P. Roll Recutting Project
By Don Teach
As many of you may know I am deeply involved in recutting Wurlitzer APP
rolls. These rolls have been criticized in the past years by many
collectors as being musically less than say the "G" orchestrion roll.
I have now had the opportunity to play several hundred Wurlitzer rolls
and have come to the conclusion that yes some tunes are better
musically to some people on the "G" roll. However there are some
killer arrangements on Wurlitzer rolls that no American piano can come
close to in creative arranging.
These Wurlitzer rolls are hard to find and we are offering many of them
in our Five Tune Wurlitzer project as well as five new rolls which is
sold out. The Ten Tune project came as an after thought as several
people have wanted the ten tune rolls. I am trying to obtain some good
ten tune rolls to copy. Rather than make composite rolls I am trying
to copy original rolls as they were sold by Wurlitzer. Several
collectors have close to five hundred APP ten tune rolls each in their
collections. It is from these collectors that I am obtaining the ten
tune rolls to copy. I am letting them pick the rolls. I personally
never really cared for march rolls until I heard one of these ten tune
Wurlitzer rolls and it knocked my hat off.
The cost for these rolls is 425.00 a set of ten rolls plus postage.
Having rolls adds value to your piano as I know one collector that has
bought pianos just to get the rolls. Now is the time to jump in on
this project.
Thanks to MMD for allowing me to push these rolls and it is only on MMD
that these rolls have been offered for sale.
Thanks
Send money.
