I have been following the thread started by John W. Miller in
MMD 010723 and have waited patiently for some mention of the MIDster
Punch system which punches Raffin 20 and 31 note music direct from MIDI
files. I felt sure that among the great many punch builders who have
bought the system there must be some who create their own Raffin-style
rolls. Now Howard Wyman has mentioned MIDster, even though he proposes
to punch book music, not rolls - MMD 010801. Thanks Howard! - One
way to punch from your masters is to build the MIDster punch head first
and work it manually until you build the rest of the machine.
My own punch machine produces Raffin rolls of both types for my own use,
but my typical English modesty forbids me to say that the results are
absolutely excellent; even though they are!
