Self-Punched Organ Rolls at Mid-Am Organ Rally
By Mike Knudsen

Just to let my fellow organ crankers know that I'll be at the
Mid-America Band Organ Rally in Wabash, Indiana, with my Raffin
31/84, plus several smaller reed-type organettes for demos.

I'll be playing about five of my own compositions or arrangements,
hand punched and cut out with the aid of a dot-matrix printer and
my own software.

There are of course spectacular home-built organs with self-punched
roll arrangements, such as "Trudy" [David Wasson] and "Spirit of San
Diego" [Charlie Porter], but so far I think I'm the only Raffin owner
who rolls his own. It's a lot of time and work, but then you can play
it a zillion times!
