I've loved the piano, its literature, and those who make it sing all
my life. I resisted early efforts to get me to study, and instead hung
around pianists. Thirty-some years ago, I found my performance
solution by becoming a very good "pianolist."
Now, facing retirement in four or five years, a new idea is forming.
Pipe dream? I don't know. I wondered if the group might advise me
on how I might become certified in piano tuning.
I doubt I have the time to become a qualified technician, but I have a
good ear and a great (so far mostly aesthetic) love of the instruments.
The question becomes: how might I learn to do no harm tuning my own
piano, and maybe those of others?
I live in the Washington DC area.
