I am trying to find out the name of the president of the Aeolian Co.
in 1914. The reason for this is to identify a young man who was an
ambulance driver during WW1, known only as "Hank", in a book titled
"The Compensations of War: The Diary of an Ambulance Driver during
the Great War." The diary was written by Guy Emerson Bowerman, Jr.,
and was published in 1983.
One of the ambulance drivers mentioned in the book was my grandmother's
cousin, and it was thrilling for me to find him mentioned. I thought
other people doing family history might appreciate knowing about the
book and the 25 or so other drivers mentioned, so I proposed to the
Rootsweb Review (a genealogy publication) making a database of their
names and the pages where they were mentioned. Rootsweb gladly took
me up on the offer.
Now I am trying to identify Hank, whose last name is not given, but
who is identified as being the son of the president of the Aeolian Co.
If you are still with me here, would you know of a resource for finding
out the name of the Aeolian Co. president in 1914? Thanks for any
information you can give me.
