Lubricating Ladder Chain

I have just taken apart and thoroughly cleaned the transmission on
my 88-note piano.  I would like to know if the ladder chain should
be put back dry, or if a light coat of oil should be applied before
re-installation?

 [ A film of sewing machine oil would help retard rusting of steel
 [ ladder chain.  Put a drop of oil on the bronze and steel bearing
 [ surfaces, too.  -- Robbie
