Hammond BA Player Organ Donated to Museum
By Lynn Zillmer
Thanks to John Ledwon in California! He has agreed to donate one of
his Aeolian Hammond BA Player Organs to DeBence Antique Music World
Museum in Franklin, PA. This will be a wonderful addition to our ever
growing collection of antique instruments and will be an especially
fitting addition to our almost complete collection of Hammond organs
which will be displayed on our second floor exhibit area which we hope
to open to the public within the next 12-18 months.
Does anyone know of someone who might be willing to transport the
player from California to Pennsylvania for us? Donation of such
service would be appreciated, however the museum is willing to pay
a qualified mover.
There is no extreme hurry to get the player moved, so if someone is
coming East in the next month or so please let us know.
Thanks to all you MMD'ers -- your expert advice is always a valuable
resource to us.
If you haven't visited DeBence recently please plan a trip to see us
soon - many improvements have been made and several new additions to
the collection are now on display and playing. You'll especially want
to see and hear our beautiful Aeolian Orchestrelle which has been
restored to its original condition.
