Mechanical Music for Silent Movies
By Marc Kaufman

I have a 6-rank Kilgen organ that was originally installed in a theatre
on a private estate in Woodside, CA. It has a player unit that was
installed in the projection booth. The player (made by Clark Organ
Company) has four tracker bars, which the operator can switch between
with pneumatic push buttons. It plays "Artistouch" CR rolls (which are
very hard to find). There are buttons on the player to control all the
traps, and stop tablets to control the voicing.
