Hi MMDers, About three years ago, one knowledgeable subscriber of the
MMD provided the address of the Ed Sullivan Show Archives. In 1955,
I appeared on the Sullivan Show as a member of The Citadel college
choir; I had searched for a copy of this appearance for nearly 40
years. With the information provided to the MMD, I was able to find
and purchase a copy of the tape. WOW, how 40 years have changed that
lean, mean Citadel cadet into a gray-haired, retired, over-weight
senior citizen.
Over the past year, I realize that many, many folks enjoy reading
the past issues of the MMD. I have had over a dozen requests for the
location of the archives, where others can purchase a copy of a past
Ed Sullivan Show performance. For those still in need of this
information, the following should be helpful:
Andrew Solt Productions
9121 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA, 90035
Phone: 310-276-9552 ; Fax: 310-276-1238
Solt Productions will want to know the approximate date of the show you
seek and the names of any of the artists who appeared on the same show
that you seek. Other conditions:
- The cost of each tape is now $250.
- The tape can not be duplicated for others.
- There must be a request from someone who is directly associated
with a performer or was the person who was on the show. (Copies
of a Beetles performance, for example, are not available, unless
you are a former Beetle?)
Good luck in your search. I really treasure the copy of the show on
which I appeared.
Regards,
Rick Cooley
