Seek Gulbransen Action for Weber & Sons Piano
By Bing Gibbs
There is a Weber & Sons 88-note pumper player for sale locally which
has a early Gulbransen Player Action in it. It's the action with the
three pistons. It is missing the stack. Does anybody have an extra
stack that might fit this piano? And also, need info on the
transmission. There are parts missing. It's case is very nice
quarter-sawn oak that is in mint condition. And it has the quite
unusual original player bench with it that's in very good condition.
There are no serial numbers in the Pierce Atlas for any of the Weber &
Sons pianos. We did find a serial number down on the lower action of
24,948. Did the Weber & Sons factory in Chicago burn down and all
serial numbers were lost? Any info appreciated. Apparently this is
the company that Aeolian bought out?
