In a previous article in 001203 MMDigest I emphasized the importance
of bleed size regulation in Welte systems. To my surprise, someone
told me that technicians had told him that they disagreed, but it
developed (according to him) that the reason for the disagreement was
that they believed that I was referring to note-valve bleeds.
I think that careful reading of the article would cause most technicians
to understand that this was not the case, but should anyone have read
it that way, I would just like to clarify that the need for individual
bleed adjustment in properly-restored Welte systems should not be
necessary in note valves, only in the expression valves; and in some of
these valves it is far more important than in others. Again, reference
should be made to the original German test roll instructions.
