Sticking Center Pins on Steinway Vertical Piano
By Bruce Clark

Not only vertical Steinways, but some of the grands have this problem
with sticky center pins. I had a few of those Steinways, and tried
every solvent imaginable to dissolve that green goo. Just when I
thought I had found something, and the action was free and working
nicely, then slowly, within six months to a year, the sluggishness
would return, and we would be back where we started.

It certainly would be a miracle if Randolph Herr made a new discovery
using "Goof Off" for this problem. Please keep us posted, Randolph!
