Federal Laws on Credit Card Prices
By John A. Tuttle

This might not be appropriate for the MMD, but since a number of MMD
members sell things, I'd like to hear some opinions. What really
irritates me to no end is the Federal Law which prohibits charging
extra for accepting credit card payments.

It's a really dumb law which, quite frankly, cheats those people who
pay by cash or check! Think about it. Retailers aren't about to eat
the cost of credit card processing fees, so they mark up the price of
everything just a little to cover the processing costs. The bottom line
is that those who pay by cash or check pay just a little bit more for
the same product. How is that fair?

Musically opinionated,

John A. Tuttle
