I am a bit slow in saying thanks to all who helped to identify the
pianist on the "Boll Weevil Blues" roll. There were so many responses
that I held off a while in saying thanks and then I got a bit busy too,
so hope you all don't think I didn't appreciate the information. I
really do! I want to especially thank Robbie who was first and also
Warren Trachtman who contributed the MP3 file for everyone to listen
too. I think I would also like ask to borrow the Themodist version to
make a production run of recuts of this roll, if there are enough
people who would like a copy.
There is a roll, which I will talk about in the next topic as I have
questions to ask on it also, that several people have asked me to recut
that is going to cost more to produce than I can sell it for. In order
to produce this roll, several of my friends in the roll business have
told me that because of the high cost, I will need to subsidize the
costs by recutting several other good rolls, to pay for it. So I went
in my piano roll vault and dug out several rather nice ragtime, blues
and other interesting rolls to consider recutting.
You all may see the titles of these rolls by visiting my web site at
http://home.earthlink.net/~rollertunes and then clicking on recuts.
I am told that now is the time when I can get the rolls recut and they
should all be ready in the fall or the first of the year. So if any of
you would like to be on the list, let me know which ones you would like
to see recut. Thanks again,
Musically yours
