Pianists in 1933 Movie "International House"
By Dean Randall
Hi folks, New Year's Eve I decided to watch "International House"
(a 1933 movie) for the umpteenth time and I hope one of you can answer
a question about it for me.
In the film there is a number in which Baby Rose Marie (looking
somewhat older than her bio would indicate) is stomping around the
top of a grand piano and belting out "My Bluebird Is Crying the Blues".
She is accompanied by duo-pianists.
I'm pretty sure that the one on the higher positioned piano is Ralph
Rainger (born Reichenthal) judging from his Ampico pictures, (and
considering that he wrote much of the music for this film) but who
is the other pianist? I'm sure he's a piano roll artist as well. He
looks very familiar, but I can't definitely identify him and it's
driving me batty(er).
Can anyone tell me?
