Aeolian Artist George Swift
By Adam G. Ramet

Does anyone know anything at all about George Swift? The extent of
my knowledge thus far is this :-

George Swift was a music and roll arranger who worked for Aeolian.
You have probably seen his name on roll labels at some time. He
arranged the vast "Classic Mosaics" series of classical composer medley
rolls. He also put together other well known titles such as "Dream
Vision Waltz" and "Tuneful Glimpses of Strauss".

He arranged rolls for the Pianola and the Aeolian Grand and had a
patent in his name for producing legato effect in music rolls by
extending the punch holes longer than was the standard practice at the
time.

All and any more info gratefully received.

Yours sincerely

Adam Ramet
