Hi All, While searching the 'net for steam whistle related stuff I
found Preston Services at http://www.steamservices.co.uk/home.htm which
had for sale the following:
"Mortier 112 key dance hall organ No 1076 "Electrosax". Built c1937.
Very large jazz style organ. 17 ft 8" high x 24 ft 4" long, about 18
registers. This organ is in totally original, as built condition, and
has a front in the Art Deco style. It is in playing condition & there
are approximately 100 books of music."
"Du Wynn 89 key dance hall organ. Built c1925. Large traditional
style 'Roccoco' organ, about 16 ft high x 25 ft long, with 20+ registers.
This is the largest remaining De Wynn organ & was built for Louis
Timmermans, the well-known organ rental company. It is in very original
playing condition & has approximately 80 books of music." (Whichever
typo is from their page.)
"Verbeeck 89 key fairground organ. Built c1924 by Verbeeck, London,
for Showman Joseph Smith, Southampton, for 3 abreast gallopers. A rare
type of organ, on the VB scale, with tubular bells. Classical 'empire'
style front with 2 large carved figures. This organ was built to
replace an earlier 87 key Gavioli, and was designed as a 'concert'
instrument, to provide a wide musical repertoire. Currently in need of
some work, the instrument has about 50 books of music."
"Marenghi 60 key fairground organ. Built c1905 in Paris for
continental showmen. Beautiful Art Nouveau Marenghi front, 9 ft 6" high
x 16 ft long. In good playing condition, with about 30 books of music,
much arranged by Carl Frei."
"Aeolian Orchestrelle self playing 'residence' organ. This model XY
organ is the largest in the range & was built c1900 for Mr Pears (of
Soap fame). It is in an oak case, approx. 8 ft 6" high x 6 ft 6" wide.
It is in excellent condition, with both electric and foot blowing, and
comes with many hundreds of rolls of music."
"Aeolian Player Piano 88 note Duo Art electric player piano, c1925,
Mahogany case. In very good playing condition with a large collection
of Duo-Art & ordinary 88 note rolls of music."
There are pictures of all except the Aeolian Player Piano, but no
prices listed.
