88-Note Music Rolls For Pipe Organ
By Mike Walter
Dear friends, I beg to differ with the opinion put forward by Bruce
Clark concerning the use of 88-note [piano] rolls on a player pipe
organ.
Those 88-note rolls that do not have sustain perforations along the
left edge are more likely to produce a pleasing effect than those with
sustain perfs. Imperial rolls (red, black & white labels) are probably
the best rolls to use, in my opinion. Of course, if the arrangement is
bad...
Many moons ago I did make a number of organ rolls which could be played
on a pipe organ with an 88-note player. Almost all of these are
classical organ pieces which were hand played and recorded on the
marking piano at Q.R.S. I do have a limited number of copies of eight
rolls. The cost is $8.00 or $13.00 plus shipping. If anyone is
interested in titles or have any questions they can send me an e-mail
at <mikew_14086@yahoo.com>.
Thanks very much. Mike Walter
