Robbie correctly stated "John Farrell provided the rolls for the
recording project", however do not cover me in glory as the rolls were
simply QRS production copies. Geoff Milne, who was the Decca recording
company's special projects guru at the time, borrowed them from me
to make the recording, but when the LP was eventually released a liner
note said, "Piano rolls from the Keith Nichols collection". Keith, who
I have known for many years, owns neither a player piano nor any rolls.
I was a little put out about the fictional credit but didn't bother to
complain to Decca.
Perhaps I should also mention that the recording took place during the
1970s, not the 1980s as Adam Ramet suggested.
