Perhaps I am wrong, and if so please correct me. I was under the
impression that a PSO was a mechanical piece of junk, probably from
Korea or other Pacific Rim areas masquerading as a piano. I don't
think this was referring to synths.

I was looking at a Korg synth in the $10,000.00 range which had a
decent touch and a decent set of samples. This is probably a better
choice than a new piano in that price range, in my own opinion. It is
true that most synths have a mushy touch very reminiscent of a Thomas
electronic organ. I can live with that if it sounds good. Another
point in favor of a good synth is that it doesn't take a fork lift to
move it. A Boesendorfer sure is nice to play, though.
