[ Re 001114 MMDigest, Seek Music of Old Barrel Organs ]
Hello Mogens. A number of years ago, which would probably have been
1974, I borrowed this cassette tape from MBSI and returned it as
requested. In any case, if you cannot track it down with them, I did
make a copy for my own use and you are welcome to a copy of this
providing I'm not breaking any international statutes leading to a
huge fine.
Somewhere in my collection I have an LP entitled, "Thirty-Two Tunes for
Flute Clock." I think it is on the Deutsch Gramophon label. It is
flute clock music recorded by a small recorder ensemble. If this is
of interest I can dig through my "archives" (love that word) to find it
and give you more information.
Finally, I have a privately-made tape of quite good quality, from Howard
Fitch, of a _very_ nice barrel organ that was in his collection. There
is very little further information other than a short description of
the organ and the names of the tunes. When he died in the mid 1980s
I think the organ went to the Ryder collection and you may wish to talk
with Steve and Jerre Ryder on that subject. I would not be prepared to
send you a copy of this without their permission as they may be unaware
of it and the organ may still be in their collection.
Hope this is of some help.
