Hi MMDers. Here's a query only a computer dunce would ask.
I've recently bought a nice shiny new PC at home with a sound card,
speakers and with MS Media Player on board, but I'm not yet connected
to the internet. My computer at work is connected but doesn't have
a sound card.
I would like to play some of the MIDI files in MMD's Sound Gallery and
I thought it would be a simple matter to download the files onto a
floppy disc and take them home. But I don't seem to be able to. The
files want to start playing themselves straight away and all I get is
the message on my work computer's screen: "Unable to start playing
MIDI"
I'll bet there's a way around this problem. Does anybody know what it
is?

[ The computer at your office complains because it has no sound card.
[ Ask your Information Systems manager to buy one for you. ;-)
[
[ Use the right mouse button and click once on the link in the browser
[ main window. On the pop-up menu click on "Save Target As..."
[ (Internet Explorer) or "Save File As..." (Netscape Navigator, near
[ the bottom), and the familiar "Save As" window will appear so that
[ you can select a local disk directory and rename the file. Save
[ the file to the floppy disk, or better, to the local hard drive
[ first, and then from the hard drive to the floppy disk.
[
[ At your home computer, launch Media Player first and use its File
[ menu to find and open the file on the floppy disk. -- Robbie
