Rewinding Electric Motors
By Rob Buckingham

Hello All, In response to Doug Helman's inquiry: I would think that
most old motors can be rewound. The cost should not exceed that of a
new motor, the rebuild should work just as well and, most importantly,
would retain its authenticity. Even in my small city there are two
places that do this kind of work.

Good Luck,
Rob Buckingham

[ Any shop can rewind a motor. The major, and costly, task is to
[ fabricate the complex bearings, and to restore the motor shaft
[ to its original diameter. D.L. Bullock tells about the problems
[ unique to reproducing piano motors in 000718 MMD, "Refurbishing
 [ Electric Motors". -- Robbie
