Toy Organ Shoots Pinecones from Pipes
By Julie Porter

Reading the thread about the Disneyland Haunted Mansion brought back
memories of a toy I had. It was a polystyrene model of the 20,000
Leagues & Haunted Mansion organ. It shot little plastic pinecones from
the pipes. I think this was supposed to be the music. As I recall the
trigger was the ghost organist. You pulled him back and the pinecone
shot from the pipe.

It was a kit and had to be glued together and painted. I recall
getting glue in the mechanism so it never really worked. I suppose
something like this would be banned now as it could put someone's eye
out, not to mention the choking hazard. I think there were warnings
to the latter. It became, in the end, a doll house prop. I wonder
if my parents still have it in a box somewhere.

Anyone else ever see one of these?
