Hello Foxtail, I am a piano restorer in the Washington/Baltimore area
specializing in cabinet restoration and refinishing. I have just
completed the restoration of a 1914 Seeburg Style "E". Having suffered
significantly from a fire many years ago, this piano was quite a basket
case, with about 75% of the veneer either loose or missing. Also
missing were the lamps on the piano.
I have completed my restoration and I am currently trying to replace
the missing lamps. The only picture of the original lamps that I have
is a poor photo which makes it difficult for me to know the details of
the lamp. As much as I'd love to find a pair of these original lamps,
I acknowledge that it will be quite difficult. I have located a
craftsman who is willing to reproduce the lamps for me but I need a
better picture of the originals.
I notice that Don Teach has quite a few pictures of Seeburg pianos
linked to your site. The photos are beautiful, but are of later
pianos. Do you know if he or anyone else might have a picture of
a Style "E" from 1914?
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Kevin Hancock
