Mortier Organ in Cabaret in Roubaix, France
By Philippe Crasse

Our workshop is proud to announce to you the forthcoming opening of
the cabaret "Aux Orgues de Roubaix", featuring a dazzling show and
the typical cuisine of northern France. How else to describe this
new cabaret:

The review overtakes anything previously attempted. In inimitable
style, the show adds a new dimension with the huge original Mortier
dance hall organ. For that instrument, we realised a lot of new
arrangements, such as Blue Danube Waltz, Kaiser Waltz, Nutcracker
suite, Danse Macabre, Hora Staccato, Funeral March of a Marionette,
Charles Trenet Suite, and so on...

Turn-of-the-century singers, such as Yvette Guilbert, Mayol, Paulus
and later Josephine Baker, play for your entertainment. Next, you sing
along with a master of choir and a street organ, you dance with a
master of ballet with the sound of a Limonaire. You are in the show.
You are the show.

Music, lyrics and dancers sweep you up into a whirlwind, the sets
change before your eyes. A magical show not to be missed.

Special Event on Saturday, the 23rd of September, 2000.

[ The cabaret's web page says "Tea Dance 3 PM to 7 PM" and "Dinner
[ Spectacle beginning 8:30 PM by a costumed troupe of 1900 and the
[ organs, Ballet French Cancan, songs and dances with masters of
[ ballet and choir, gastronomy typical of the North." I believe
[ Roubaix is nearby Lille, France. -- Robbie
