In MMD 00.09.16, Mark Williamson asked about a srange player...

This sounds like the Schulz roll tracker. It guided off the rol flanges,
not the paper as it went over the tracker.

The reason the stack was not recovered was probably that it is very
difficult to do properly. Before you do it, make sure you get all the
information you can. Player Piano Co. used to have pretty elaborate
directions available. I don't know if they still do. Check MMD archives
and Art Reblitz' book for more info.

Good luck!
Jeff Davis in Seatle, where my tomatoes are still green and temps are to
be in the 30's tonight!
