Dear MMD,
It is getting late, but I have just finished entering the last of the
known information into a computer database for Violano Rolls.  This
project was announced in MMD2000.07.27, and has consumed several
hundred hours of typing.  Those of you who made it to the MBSI
convention last week had the opportunity to see the project when it was
80% complete, and weighed in at 450 pages.  I am now seeking the missing
information to fill in the holes.  I was amazed to discover that my
meager collection of 75 rolls contained six that were not in the
original research!  Therefore, I know that the rest of the information
cannot be permanently lost.  I have attached a modified copy of the
flyer that was handed out at the convention and a listing of those rolls
that have no song number and title information.

Please check your collections and get me any missing information that
you may have.  As soon as the information flow has subsided, copies of
the database will be available for a nominal fee.

VIOLANO ROLLOGRAPHY PROJECT

I am working with Art Reblitz to expand upon his previously published
Violano roll list.  I have entered the known data for the 3120 total
rolls and have included such things as roll title, song number, song
title, composer/arranger, copyright and other information as available
in a Microsoft Access database.  The information will be available on
CD-R in not only the Access format, but also in Excel and Word.  Most
of the information has come from Art's earlier list, the third edition
Violano roll catalog and the tenth edition Violano roll catalog.  We
are currently seeking copies of catalogs from other years and
information from collectors to fill in the missing data.  Attached, I
have a list of roll numbers for which we have no information.  Please
contact me if you may have roll information to contribute to this
project or if you would like to be contacted when the CD is ready.
