Just a quick hello -- Quickly joined the market, looking to buy a
player piano: an upright, and not one of those newer MIDI computer
controlled ones, either. Just applied for subscription to the list,
haven't started getting messages yet though, but in kinda a time
crunch, so pardon the intrusion. :>
Local to me, someone's selling an Aeolian player. I'm going to look at
it tomorrow (with a roll of my own, not a test roll, though). I know
some of the basic things to look for, however, I'm curious about the
name. Couldn't find much general info on these players searching the
list. Reportedly refurbished early 1980's, it plays well.
Should I worry about the quality of Aeolian players (seen some posts
complaining about them), should I pass it up immediately, etc?
Specific things to look for on them? (On most of the posts I looked
through I've seen Aeolian organs.
The seller did mention it was a player _piano_. Problem? For the
money, and the condition reported (selling at $1500) it _seems_ like
a good deal, but I haven't seen it in person yet.
So, essentially, in short, heh, anything about these 'brand' of players
I should expect or worry about?
Gratzi!
Mike
