FS Free: 16-Rank Moller Pipe Organ
By Bill Chapman

I recently got an email from a church in Visalia CA, near Fresno.
The Apostolic Truth Temple has not been using the Moller pipe organ in
their sanctuary. Instead they have a Hammond organ and several live
musicians who lead on Sundays using their synth, guitars etc. The
church was originally a Baptist church -- the baptistery is still there.

The organ has about 16 ranks and is located in an organ loft about
15 feet above the alter stage. The church will probably remove the
grill cloth, and the chests could be lowered with ropes. The console
is large, has air going to it, and has 3 manuals. It is blond oak and
in mint condition; there is no wear on the pedals. It was rebuilt by
Moller in 1969, some 14 years after the organ was installed.

The pipework (that I could see) was in excellent shape. Unfortunately
the Swell division was impossible to reach because the ladder going to
it was behind a partition.

I have some digital pictures which I will share if anyone is
interested. They are not particularly good because of the lack of
lighting in the organ chamber. If you would like more info, just
email me.

By the way, they are extremely anxious to have the organ removed.
They are very tempted to call for a dumpster and haul it away.
