Many of my oldest rolls were conveyed with my 1911 Steinway 65/88-note
upright, so I don't necessarily know much about their origins. There
were, however, a bunch of Juelg rolls dating back to the early 1900s.
I frankly have gotten rid of quite a few of them and seldom try to
play the rest. It's not that the musical content is lacking: their
selections ran an interesting range of classical and popular. The
truth is in the paper. The company used a very inferior (thick and
soft) paper that has not held up well over the years.
