Krytox & Teflon & Graphite Lubricants
By John Spradley
Hi All, I recently purchased a can of McLube 1700L Colorless Dry
Film Mold Release from PPCo. A search of MMD did not turn up any
information on modern substitutes for graphite.
1. Is it safe to use it as a lubricate of wooden parts that slide
against each other?
2. Is Krytox similar to Teflon?
3. Is this the same dry-film Krytox chain lube which is sold in
bicycle shops?
I understand Krytox is used as a lubricant in aircraft oxygen systems.
I should think that would indicate a long life.
