Introduction
By Ana Gerard

Hi everyone! I am Ana Gerard, of Burlington, Vermont, and I'm a piano
teacher who got into piano tuning, rebuilding, etc., because of the
lack of reliable and reputable people in the field. I got tired of my
piano being out of tune and out of regulation. This is my 4th career,
just as one should think of retiring! (I'm 60 but I seem to run rings
around my younger counterparts.)

I got interested in the mechanical instruments because of so many
around here (all in sad states of repair), and I have ended up with
several Gulbransens and a Kurtzmann about which I have lots of
questions.

I just recently took quick trips to Florida and to Denver to pick up
matching Weber Duo-Arts for my own personal use; one is intact and the
other is in need of restoration. This seems to me the best of two
worlds, like having my cake and eating it too. When I was in Denver,
the man I bought the Weber from showed me his Steinway and Knabe
reproducers, so can hardly wait to get my two up and running.

I've already gained so much from the discussions I've read on MMD and
I hope I will be able to be an addition to the group.
