New Wurlitzer Unit Valves from PPCo
By Don Teach
John Tuttle and I had the same thoughts [000705]. I also called Player
Piano Co. and talked with Durrell Armstrong this morning. A day
late with the news, but I was thinking. Many restorers used the
Perflex and sponge neoprene when the products first came into use.
At the time these products were new they did work very well in certain
applications. It is not fair to judge a company by products they
produced fifteen years ago. I would think we all have a skeleton or
two in the closet somewhere.
The new Wurlitzer valves are $6.95 each from PPCo. If you need these
valves then buy a couple and try them. They are easy to rebuild if you
demand leather, but remember that leather does rot over time. The
leather today is not processed the same way it was 90 years ago, thanks
to the good old government looking after us.
