List of 6" Discs for 14-Note "Diana" Organette
By Mike Knudsen

For Kevin and anyone else interested in cataloguing 6" discs for the
14-note Diana organette, here is the list of my 22 discs. German tunes
naturally dominate, with Poland in second place. Also represented are
Austria, Hungary, France, Scandinavia, Italy, and even two USA entries.

Titles are listed exactly as stamped on the discs, with my translations
in parentheses and comments on the following line. However, umlaut
vowels are notated "oe" and "ae".

2. Washington Post
So-so attempt at the Trio of this famous Sousa march

7. Tres presse! Galopp
The dance tune with the train whistles!

19. Bjoerneborgs marschen
   Dignified, slow march

26. "Pumka" Ritka Csardos
2/4 time; Interesting movement of inner voices

30. Krakowiak No. 2 (Cracow style dance?)
   Lively 4/4 tune in 3rds

31. Krakowiak No. 4
   Very good tune in 4/4.

36. Das Dreigespann (3-horse team? Troika?)
   In slow hymn style.

39. Laengs der Strasse (Along the Street)
   Complex archaic, classical style arrangement

50. Napoleons Marsch

52. Louisiana Lou Waltz ("Lou" may be something else, nearly illegible)
   Decent Cajun sort of waltz

68. Beim Souper. Walzer
   Decent waltz, one strain repeated.

69. Leonia, Mazurka
   Good arrangement of 3/4 tune.

72. "Liebeszauber" Marschlied ("Love's Magic" march song)
Good tune with rubato, i.e., not "rigid notation"

77. "Monopolka"
   Lively 2/4, typical polka

88. Oberoesterreichischer Landler - (Upper-Austrian Country-dance)
You can hear the yodeling in this 3/4 predecessor of the waltz.

114. Sl'ava ti, vlasti ma

128. Zierereiche. Walzer (Elegant? Glittery? waltzes)
Good tune with many sustained long notes

139. Die Kleine Wittwe (The Little Widow; yes, spelled "Wittwe")
She sounds far too jolly in this 2/4 polka!

148. Finska Rytteriets Marsch (Finnish Knights/Nobility?)
Stately fanfare in the style of a national anthem

150. Funiculi-Funicula
The well-known Italian song, much abridged

154. Tarantella Napoletana
Good example of this fast 6/8 Italian dance

164. Silberfischlein - (Silver Minnow)
Excellent waltz with grace notes for the darting fish
