Dear Mr Rhodes, I notice that you have often written to the Mechanical
Music Digest and seem to have an interest in Boesendorfer SE pianos.
I thought you might like to know that there is a UK enterprise which is
active with the SE, having an Imperial 190 SE in regular use, promoting
and making CDs for young Artists. See it at www.boesendorfer.uk.com
I happen to be the webmaster for this enterprise so I notice your
traffic about SEs and the following in the US. I know Wayne Stahnke
slightly having talked to him on the phone about his library, (which
I have bought), and the technology in general.
A close friend of mine has built from scratch a modern electronic
interpretation of the original Boesendorfer technology but integrated
into a Steinway D which he happened to have. I myself have written a
modern Windows Archive Application, for the 2000 or so performances we
have, which also acts as a wrapper for the original 16 bit DOS software
supplied with these instruments. I also make extensive use of MIDI
which is stored in parallel by the archive in addition to the KLS
files.
I am the software maintenance man for Hurstwood-Farm Music and my
friend looks after the Imperial SE electronics and a recording-only
additional Steinway D which he equipped at Hurstwood. I hope this info
tickles your interest and we would be happy to talk to you or anyone
else at the MMD with an interest in this project.
Regards
Stephen Greener
